Therapy with Me

Therapy here is about finally understanding the woman you already are; how your early experiences, attachment patterns, and the weight of culture and faith have shaped the way you love, cope, and see yourself.

My approach is trauma-informed and depth-oriented, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, and compassion-focused therapy. For those who wish to, we can also work within an Islamic psychological framework; honouring your emotional wellbeing and your faith as part of the same process.

When words are hard to find, we'll also draw on mindfulness, body awareness, and creative expression as another way in, for the parts of your story that don't come easily in language.

Sessions are held online via Zoom, so you can access therapy from a space that feels private and comfortable to you. I work with women aged 18 and older.

Sessions are £70, usually 50 minutes, held weekly or fortnightly depending on what suits you.

I work with women navigating things like:

  • Cultural and religious expectations, and the tension of holding both

  • Childhood trauma and parent wounds

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Relationship wounds — including infidelity and narcissistic abuse

  • Imposter syndrome and perfectionism

  • Intergenerational trauma and family patterns

  • Personal identity and self-worth

  • Difficult family dynamics

  • Professional pressure and burnout

This might be a good fit if...

  • You've never had a space that understood the full picture of who you are — faith, culture, and all

  • You manage everything well on the outside but feel stuck or overwhelmed underneath

  • You want a therapist who won't ask you to explain or justify your background before you can begin

It may not be the right time if you're looking for short-term, solution-only support rather than deeper exploratory work and that's completely okay. I'm happy to help you think about what might suit you better.

What to expect from a first session

Your free 30-minute consultation is a conversation, not an assessment. It is a chance for us both to get a feel for whether this is the right fit. If we go ahead, your first full session is where we'll start to map what's brought you here and what you're hoping therapy can hold space for. There's no pressure to have the "right" words ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long are sessions, and how much do they cost? Sessions are 50 minutes at £70 each. If you have questions about fees, get in touch, I'm happy to talk it through.

How often do we meet? Weekly or fortnightly, depending on what works for you. We'll agree on a rhythm together.

Will you understand my cultural or faith background, or will I need to explain it? You won't need to translate your experience or justify your faith here. As a Muslim woman myself, I understand the particular weight of holding faith, family, culture, and your own inner life at once and for those who want it, we can work explicitly within an Islamic psychological framework.

Is this confidential, including from my community? Yes. Everything discussed in session is confidential, held to the same professional standards as any registered therapist (BACP/UKCP), with the usual exceptions around safeguarding that is explained in the intake documents.

Do I need to be religious or practicing to work with you? No. Faith integration is available if you want it, not a requirement. Many women I work with are figuring out their relationship with faith as part of the process itself.

How do I know if therapy is right for me? If you're asking the question, it's usually worth exploring. You don't need a crisis or a clear goal to start. Many women come simply wanting to understand themselves more.

What if I don't know what to say? That's completely normal, especially at first. We'll go at your pace, and I'll help guide the conversation.

How long does therapy usually take? It varies. Some women find a few months enough to work through something specific; others prefer longer-term, open-ended work. We'll check in on this together as we go.
